In 1997 RTA successfully won gold at the first World Nature Games - JNM held on the boarders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Germany's first Gold medal in Rafting in such a prestigious event. Team Members:- Peter Micheler (Captain), Thomas Karas, Rainer Simanowski, Vitus Husek, Christian Lechlmayr and Dirk Ciesla.
German being the most successful nation, taking a total of 3 Gold's during the event. A total of 11 disciplines Biathlon, Triathlon, Canoe/Kayak Marathon, Slalom, Mountain-bike, Free-climbing, parachuting, Sailing, Golf and Horse-riding. 800 athletes from 50 different countries took part.
In 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 RTA continued their success by winning the German Rafting Championships title held on the Olympic White-water course in Augsburg. RTA will represent Germany in 2008 EuropeanChampionships in Austria/Steiermark/Wildalpen. The hard training and preparation in the summer months paid off collecting a gold medal at the World Championships in Inje/Korea. Most of our raft guides are long time wild water paddlers, either in competition or extreme kayaking. Some of them have earned national or international titles in their kayak and canoe disciplines before becoming river guides with RTA.

RTA Guides wins the German Rafting Championships !!!
  • During the 29th/30th September 2007, the 4-man German Rafting Championships took place for the ninth time on the River Lech and on the Olympic course in Augsburg. RTA - Kanu Schwaben 1 won the title again ahead of RTA - Kanu Schwaben 2.
  • 1st Place: Falk Schumann, Max Remmele, Thomas Funke and Rene Muehlmann. 2nd place: Fabian Baer, Andy Remmele, Rainer Simanowsky & Peter Micheler from RTA - Kanu Schwaben 2.
  • RTA have once again qualified themselves for the European Rafting Championship in Austria (Mai 2008).
