BLZ Augsburg - the canoeing centre @ Eiskanal 1971-2011†
The federal wild water canoeing center is situated in an absolute quiet location on an island in between two artificial channels. Here in the middle of the forest 'Stadtwald' you live in a perfect recovery area, close to a nice swimming lake (Kuhsee/cowlake) and the Augsburg botanical gardens and zoo. The forest is rich in well maintenance bike- and walking tracks. 

The BLZ was demolished in Jan. 2011 and will be rebuild until April 2012!

  • Olympic slalom course in two legs for competition, fun rafting, & freestyle kayaking 
  • 3 km long distance flat-water section at the river Lech above the  Hochablass dam. 
  • Rafting training and competition downriver section at river Lech to MAN bridge  (5,5 km below Hochablass)
