Canyoning Tyrol/Austria 2008

Just for fun! Or a real challenge, you'll find 'your' canyon!

Those, who have experienced it, are inspired. Others, which heard of it, are curious. A fascinating fun sport, where you dive into a "new world" led by our professional guides. You explore new places where very few people have been before.

Canyoning Rosengartenschlucht, Level 1@ Imst

Canyoning, is a mixture of climbing, hiking and swimming in mountain creeks. A controlled adventure awaits you, descending down narrow gorges, through torrent currents, over waterfalls, down rock faces and natural chutes.

All of the regions alpine rivers in Tyrol have numerous tributaries where the funnelling waters from the high mountains have carved out narrow gorges, ravines and canyons over thousands of years. Guided by our professionals we explore the normally inaccessible routes, the bizarre landscapes, and come ever closer to nature.

Equipped with a neoprene suits, helmet, climbing harness, karabiners and ropes we master climbing, swimming and sliding through some of the most beautiful canyons with magnificent scenery.

For  all Canyoning tours it is necessary to provide yourself with a good hiking shoe or ankle high boots, but guaranteed to become wet. The remaining equipment is provided by us.  On very cold days you can wear two suits (7mm neoprene on the legs and 10mm on the torso). It looks a little like the ' Michelin ' man from the tire advertisement, but guaranteed to keep you warm. No one to see except the members of your group in the otherwise inaccessible Canyon! Curiosity drives you further on the forthcoming adventure.

  • Depending on water levels and sun exposure we select the best tour of the day to coincide with the conditions.
  • Advanced tours we select routes that are more demanding , with which climbing and abseiling are inevitable. Self confidence and a good physical fitness is required.
  • The most difficult tours are undertaken only with optimal weather conditions and requires the highest level of fitness and experience. We keep ourselves flexible to change the route should the possibility of danger arise. In any Alpine area you must always adapt to the situation fast!
    • All you need to bring along is your bathing cloths, good hiking boots or mountain shoes and a towel to shower after the tour. Neoprene socks (3.5mm) are provided so make sure the shoes are not to tight!
    • If necessary bring your own gloves for extreme cold weather, or we can supply them on request. Price for neoprene gloves approx. €35.00. The neoprene hood is supplied with the special designed Canyoning top.
    • The Cold plays a big role in Canyoning, therefore we have sufficient material to outfit everyone with two suits, including our new specialised canyoning jackets with hood, a thickness of at least 10mm.
