Rafting World Champioships 2005 in Ecuador - River Quijos
In October 2005 the WRC was given to South America for the first time and we were on our way with KLM to Ecuador. Arriving at Quito airport we were invited straight upon arrival for a press conference there. Our team in team dress with panama hats was photographed for the news next day and we had good exposure nationwide.
The very next year, when the Soccer World cup was happening in Germany in 2006, Ecuador was in the group with Germany. Arriving here the Ecuadorians hat the same Panama hats on as we did a year before. Asked about this the soccer players said they got the idea from the German Rafting team a year before...
