River Float from Voburg to Weltenburg monastery 2008 |
|
Rafting down the river Danube on original wooden
rafts 'Floss' with live music! |
|
|

|
Floss=raft (english)
The
actual meaning of the translated word in English. Join us on a nostalgic original raft tour down the
Danube, the journey made by the ‘Siebenbuergener Swabians’ 200 years
ago.
- We begin with a welcoming
glass of champagne to put us in the right mood for our
journey.
- We
start our river tour just below the Danube bridge in Vohburg. Once afloat, the music begins and the
rhythm of the
band brings
you in high spirits. There remains nothing else but to tap the feet and
celebrate. Dance
the 'Danube Waltz' on the River Danube!

- After
a short break we continue our journey with the raft and
approach our next destination - the Danube gorge close to
Weltenburg monastery.
- Don't
forget to pack your bathing suit, depending upon weather
conditions. Swimming in the Danube on the journey is permitted.
- Our
day-trip on the ‘floss’ ends shortly before the Danube
gorge.
- It
is not possible to raft through the Danube gorge on our
wooden ‘Floss’ due to the Danube shipping laws.
- However
a further highlight of the day is to paddle our 12 man
inflatable rafts through the gorge down to Kehlheim.
Accessible only from water level, we are fortunate
enough to view the impressive landscape.
- The minimum number of participants per Raft is 10
persons. There is a max. of
5 rafts.
