The Maisalm is the closet of all huts, it can even be seen from the our Raft Base in Oetztal Bahnhof. It is situated on a plateau with a wonderful view of the Inn valley. One can even see the entire Rafting section of the river from Imst to Haiming and can see it meandering down the valley!

The Alm offers two large sleeping dormitories (15 plus 5 beds) and separate bathrooms. Downstairs is the Lounge/eating area for all house guests and also by passing hikers, who often visit the 'Alm' like many locals stop-by in summer.

The gravel road goes in two alternative routes 8km up to the Maisalm. Call Claudia & Peter Pohl up there to arrange the luggage transportation and possible 'patients' with injured legs. The taxi company 'Tipotsch' in Oetztal-Bahnhof offers taxi transfers to the various Alpine Hotels. Call (Tel. +43 (0)5266-88216) for further information about prices and group sizes.

Directions to the Maisalm:

• To reach the Maisalm take one of the two exits to Roppen off the B171 and drives on up to the post office. 

• From there take the gravel road sign-posted Maisalm and park your vehicle on the grass verge making sure not to obstruct any traffic. 

• The gravel road goes in two alternative routes, a shorter foot-path or the 8km gravel track up to the Alm. 

• The taxi company `Tipotsch' in Ötztal-Bahnhof offers taxi transfers to the various Alpine Hotels. Call (Tel. +43 (0)5266-1716). 

• For further information about prices and group sizes. The Maisalm is open annually between June and September.

The walk from the Maisalm to your vehicle is approx. 60-90 minutes.

Price: Half-board Euro 31.00 with minimum stay of 2 days. Add 7.00 EUR for one night only.
