All European team are eligible to
participate in this European Cup entering the competition until 21.4.2008
with names of participants. IRF Rules 2008 are applying.
Program 2008
3rd of May 9am - Time trial - Eiskanal
start at weir to finish at restaurant:
Raft are held back at pontoon in
downriver direction at stern. On command 5-4-3-2-1-go, the rope will be released.
Time interval between teams is 2 minutes. The result of the time trial is used
to set the pairs in the first heat of the h2h sprint race. Cut off usually is
the top 16 teams progressing into the 2h2. If more than 31 teams are at start
the cut off is 32. The winner receives 100 points:

after h2h in lunch break. No training run!!
8-12 gates (6-8 downriver and
4 upstream gates).
14.00 h: Slalom 1st run.
Time interval
2 minutes.
15.00 h: Slalom 2nd run
The better run counts for result.
Time an penalty points are added, the lower score wins.
5 penalty points for
touching a pole or both poles
50 penalty points for
missing or going trough the gate in the wrong direction. Head and
shoulders are marking the body.
Going in the wrong
consecutive order or touching a higher numbered gate is also judged with 50
penalty points.
The winning team receives 300 points.

4th of May
downriver race - 10am:
We plan to to this race from start
below the Hochablass dam trough Augsburg city to the so called MAN bridge (6th
bridge from the start, distance approx. 5,5 km). If we get snow melting water
from the Alps, there will be sufficient in the river bed. If not, we change the
course to the alternatives.
We do Le Mans start at the
river bank behind a clearly marked line. This line must not be stepped
over in direction to the river and downriver. Running along the
river bank will be penalized.
Groups are according to the
actual intermediate result in groups of 8.
Within a group the higher
ranked team has the choice of lane. Only the time counts in all different
groups. The fastest time being the winner of all groups.
The winning team receives
400 points.
10am - Downriver - A-final
women, 8 rafts, rankings 1-8 according
to actual intermediate result
11.15am - Downriver - C-final
men, 8 rafts, rankings 17-24 according
to actual intermediate result
12.30pm - Downriver - B-final
men, 8 rafts, rankings 9-16 according
to actual intermediate result
2.00pm - Downriver - A-final
men, 8 rafts, rankings 1-8 according
to actual intermediate result
If a D-final men or B-final women
is to be raced we will start the first heat at 8.30am!
Sunday 4th of May 2008 - 4pm
Price giving in the clubhouse of Kanu
Schwaben.
Overall winner is the team with the
highest score in points! All points are valid for your European cup ranking.
General:
Die HYSIDE 12" self
bailing rafts are provided (8 rafts in total).
Each competitor must bring his/her own
safety equipment. One flip line, throw bag and knife per team, only to be
used in the downriver race.
IRF scoring: time trial 100, h2h sprint
200, slalom 300, downriver 400 points. Max. points 1000.
Points in individual disciplines: 1st 100%,
2nd 88%, 3rd 79%, 4th 72%, 5th 69%, 6th 66%, 7th 63%, 8th 60% (to 18th (30%)
minus 3%, from 19th (28%) minus 2%....to 32nd 2%).

Minimum entry: 16 teams men, 4 teams
women!
Entry fee: Euro 100.00 per Team (4
competitors plus 1 spare) for all races.
Entry fee is due in cash at Captain's Meeting,
2nd of May - 8pm at clubhouse Kanu Schwaben Augsburg e.V. Deposit for bib
50.00 EUR.
Each extra person per team is 20.00 Euro
for supplied food.
You can reserve rooms in the BLZ canoeing
center at Eiskanal. There is 60 beds available in total from the 30th of
April 2008.
Directions to the Eiskanal in Augsburg:
Use Autobahn A8, exit no. 73, Augsburg
East (Ost). Follow postsign for approx. 8 km to 'Füssen'. At
intersection Berliner Alle/Friedberger Str. straight on for another 800 m
to parking lot at Eiskanal.
Or Autobahn A8 exit no. 72 'Dasing'
direction Friedberg on road B300 until you hit intersection Berliner Allee/Friedberger
Strasse. Use turn around loop to the right and then back again to 'Am
Eiskanal' straight on for another 800 m to parking lot at Eiskanal.
