Augsburg international RAFTING championship WELTBILD Rafting Cup - 29th June 2008
Open competition for all 4-man/women teams. Entry fee EURO 10.00/person.

Just one week ahead of the Augsburg canoe slalom world cup 2008 there will be held for the third time in a row the Augsburg international RAFTING championship. All hobby teams and also individual persons are eligible to enter the competition. In 2006 this event was organized for the first time and a big success despite really bad weather on race day. More than 60 teams entered the race. Hopefully we will have good conditions this time in peak summer to attract even more teams than 2007. (link webcam Eiskanal)

This time we will test your skills in raft slalom! Two runs, both added with penalty points and your individual run times analog to canoe slalom. The course will be made of 8 gates, 6 of them downriver (green/white) and 2 upsteam (red/white). City champion: Winner is the team with the lowest score of both added runs! 1st run: All teams in consecutive order 2nd run: All teams in reverse order of the result of 1st runs. Best team of 1st run comes last.

We supply: Rafts Paddel life jackets helmets B.y.o. all additional equipment. Each competitor participates on his/her own risk.		Teams: All teams are made of 4 persons inclusive guide. Your guide will be provided from us on demand, but you are free to b.y.o. guide.. Guides are not to choose! We provide guides upon on availability.

Organizing information: All parking area is at the 'Kuhseeparkplatz' opposite River Lech. Just walk over the 'Hochablass' to the south entrance of the Eiskanal Olympic area. A provisional start list will be published 24th of June 2008, containing your estimated start time. The list will be amended until race day. Changing rooms are at the very big Nations tent, situated between bowling center and park site. This tent is not guarded and there is no responsibility for deposited personal gear. Bibs are available at the 'Weltbild Pavilion' close to the score board, commencing Sat., 28th of June 2008 10am. Bibs only to be returned after your run there! Deposit for each bib: EURO 20.00. Maximum no. of teams entering the race: 150 teams!

With your entry the entry fee is due. There will be no refund on cancellations. All entry fees are used for a specific purpose for raft racing at the Kanu Schwaben Augsburg club.

Preliminary time schedule: 28th June 2008: 10am-6pm free training for all teams in gates (on your own risk). Every entered team can do one training run only! start in consecutive order of bibs!

Preliminary time schedule 29th June 2008: 8am - Bibs are available @ 'Weltbild Counter' 10am to 1 pm - 1st run, start interval 1-2 minutes 2pm to 5pm - 2nd run in reverse order according to results of 1st run, cut off applies. 6pm - Price giving Top three teams will get medals of the city council Augsburg 1st-4th place are receiving attractive prices from Weltbild
