The Competition will be held in R6 (6-man/women) and R4 (4-man/women) racing class. According to the IRF-race rules the team’s that are allowed to attend the Euro Championship are the top two men’s and top two women’s teams of each up-to-date IRF member nation. All accredited teams can start in the categories R4 and/or R6. It is not mandatory to start in both categories. The maximum number of teams per nation, (men and women R4 and R6) if no team start in both categories is eight, 4 men & 4 women. IRF membership information, contact details and race rules can be found at www.intraftfed.com. Teams are to confirm directly with the IRF that they are eligible to enter.

The European Rafting Championship (ERC) will take place from 12th to 18th of May 2008.

For organizing both categories at one event an ambitious timetable is needed! Our experience shows us the possibility to to this.

• Monday, 12th of May: training, team registration

• Tuesday, 13th of May: official Training, official opening

• Wednesday, 14th of May: Sprint and H2H R4

• Thursday, 15th of May: Downriver R4

• Friday, 16th of May: Sprint and H2H R6

• Saturday, 17th of May: Slalom R4, Slalom R6

• Sunday, 18th of May: Downriver R6, official closing ceremony

During the whole event a social evening program is organized by us.

Wildalpen is located in the centre of the Steiermark county near Mariazell. More information you will find on www.wildalpen.at . From the cities Vienna, Graz and Salzburg you need 2 hours by car. Munich airport is 3-4 hours drive away.

River Salza is a very famous wild water with a long history in water sports. European Rafting started here at the end of 1970's. River Salza is pure mountain drinking water quality. In spring we will have snow melt water. The wild water grade (WW) is 2-3 under normal water conditions. Sprint and Slalom take place at the rapid directly in the village of Wildalpen. The Downriver section will depend at the water level.
