RTA - Kanu Schwaben 1 (backwards right Dirk Ciesla, backwards left "Hodny" Karas, front left Christian Lechlmayr, front right Peter Micheler, ahead of Prague - CZE followed by Sterzing - ITA.

All European team are eligible to participate in this European Cup entering the competition until 15th October 2010 with names of participants. IRF Rules 2010 applying.

23rd Oct. 09.00 am - Time Trial Eiskanal

Raft are held back at pontoon in downriver direction at stern. On command 5-4-3-2-1-go, the rope will be released. Time interval between teams is 2 minutes. The result of the time trial is used to set the pairs in the first heat of the h2h sprint race and groups for downriver. The winner receives 100 points:

23rd of October: downriver race - 11.00am:

The start will be eighter in Bobingen (10km south from Augsburg city centre) river Wertach or below the Hochablass dam river Lech, depending on the water situation at the day. Alternative emergency downriver course: Rounds @ Eiskanal > Stadtbach > upstream Neubach in interval starts like 2008 + 2009. For teams arriving Saturday morning we try to organize a training run River Wertach after the A-Final women.

  • We do Le Mans start at the river bank behind a clearly marked line. This line must not be stepped over in  direction to the river and downriver. Running along the river bank will be penalized. 

  • Groups are according to the actual intermediate result in groups of 8.

  • Within a group the higher ranked team has the choice of lane. Only the time counts in all different groups. 

  • The fastest time being the winner of all groups.

  • The winning team receives 400 points.

11.00am - Downriver - A-final women, 8 rafts, rankings 1-8 according to time trial result

1.30pm - Downriver - C-final men, 8 rafts, rankings 17-24 according to time trial result

3.00pm - Downriver - B-final men, 8 rafts, rankings 9-16 according to time trial result

24th Oct. - 14.00 h: Slalom 1st run, 15.00 h 2nd run

  • Slalom course will be set after h2h in lunch break. No training run!!

  • 8-12 gates (6-8 downriver and 4 upstream gates).

  • 2am: Slalom 1st run. Time interval 2 minutes.

  • 3am: Slalom 2nd run

The better run counts for result. Time an penalty points are added, the lower score wins.

  • 5 penalty points for touching a pole or both poles

  • 50 penalty points for missing or going trough the gate in the wrong direction. Head and shoulders are marking the body.

  • Going in the wrong consecutive order or touching a higher numbered gate is also judged with 50 penalty points.

  • The winning team receives 300 points.

Sunday, 24th of October 2010 - 4.30 pm - price giving in the clubhouse of  Kanu Schwaben Augsburg.

Overall winner is the team with the highest score in points! All points are valid for your European cup ranking.

General:

  • Die HYSIDE 12" self bailing rafts are provided (8 rafts in total).

  • Each competitor must bring his/her own safety equipment. One flip line, throw bag and knife per team, only to be used in the downriver race.

  • IRF scoring: time trial 100, h2h sprint 200, slalom 300, downriver 400 points. Max. points 1000.

  • Points in individual disciplines: 1st 100%, 2nd 88%, 3rd 79%, 4th 72%, 5th 69%, 6th 66%, 7th 63%, 8th 60% (to 18th (30%) minus 3%, from 19th (28%) minus 2%....to 32nd 2%).

  • The newest IRF racing rules are published under: www.IntRaftFed.com.

  • The German national champion is representing Germany at the next R6 European Championships 2010. Two additional athletes of the second placed team are choosen. The team is also qualified for the R4 WRC 2010.

  • Minimum entry at deadline October 15th 2010:

    • 8 teams men

    • 4 teams women

     

  • Entry fee: Euro 100.00 per Team (4 competitors plus 1 spare) for all races plus food saturday night at clubhouse.

  • Entry fee is due in cash at Captain's Meeting, 9th of October - 8pm at clubhouse Kanu Schwaben Augsburg e.V. Deposit for bib 50.00 EUR.

  • Each extra person per team is 10.00 Euro for supplied food.

  • There are no rooms available at the BLZ canoeing center at Eiskanal this time as it will be rebuilt! However we assist in the local guesthouses and hotels in booking your rooms.

  • Directions to the Eiskanal in Augsburg:

  • Use Autobahn  A8, exit no. 73, Augsburg East (Ost). Follow postsign for approx. 8 km to 'Füssen'.  At intersection Berliner Alle/Friedberger Str. straight on for another 800 m to parking lot at Eiskanal.

  • Or Autobahn A8 exit no. 72 'Dasing' direction Friedberg on road B300 until you hit intersection Berliner Allee/Friedberger Strasse. Use turn around loop to the right and then back again to 'Am Eiskanal' straight on for another 800 m to parking lot at Eiskanal.
