Skihut Zams @ Venet mountain 2007/2008

Surrounded by a 3000 meters high mountain range, the Skihut Zams at the Venet mountain (1780 m above sea level) offers the ideal holiday destination for those who really love nature. We are one of a chain of mountain huts, situated at the European hiking track E5, caring for those hikers crossing the alps, so they can continue their hike totally refreshed for the next stage.

For the long term guest our rooms are especially suitable for Rafting, Canyoning- and Skicamps, also for club- or incentive travel. Of course, we do welcome also families and single travelers. Recover from daily routine in high altitude at our sunny terraces. In the evenings we organize romantic mode at the idyllic outdoor wood fire place. For your children we have an own playground nearby the house, where they can play all day long.

Nowadays in our hectic daily routine, socializing with family and friends is almost a luxury. But therefore our comfy big central gathering room is ideal. We also cater for bigger groups in this pleasant surroundings. We will gladly organize bbq/grill and traditional music evenings on request during the summer. The hiking possibilities at the Skihut Zams are enormous. Well developed paths permit extensive walks from hut to hut.

In this cozy ambience you can party all night long, salute to the adventures you just did in your very own rafting and canyoning adventures.

For those being enthusiastic in winter sports we are the center place to be in the middle of the skiing resort Venet mountain. Just use this unbeatable advantage to leave house, being in the middle of the skiing slopes. No waiting in big queue at lift stations, winter sports without stress.

Pure skiing fun, one of the most beautiful family resorts in Tyrol with superb mountain views in a well arranged and maintained area with 22 kilometers slopes. Our long and varied slopes are winter wonderland for all skiers.

Going uphill, there is two big gondola lifts plus a lot of chairlifts. At top of the 'Krahberg' you will find the fun-, and playground for your children.

In our spacious multi bed rooms and dormitories you will have a pleasant stay.

Dormitories are ideal for school- and sport camps, quite reasonable for those who want to experience the fascination of mountain life.

There is two dormitories for 15 people and one for 20-25 persons. Please bring your own sleeping bag. Comfort rooms supply your sheets and covers.

Dircetions to Skihut Zams:

The Skihut is reached via the 'Fernpass' on either the A7 Füssen/Reutte or the A95 Garmisch/Griesen avoiding motorway fees (toll label). In Imst just follow the signs B171 to Landeck. If you choose to use the Autobahn to Bregenz you have to pay toll for just 20m km. Imst>Mils>Schönwies>Zams.
Alternatively Garmisch-Partenkirchen (A95) via Mittenwald, Zirler Berg then B171 via Telfs and Silz to Imst and Zams/Landeck, avoiding motorway fees. From Zirl, it almost pays off using the Autobahn to exit Zams. It takes you more than an hour on the B171.
Or all the way on the Autobahn A8 - Munich>Rosenheim>Innsbruck>Bregenz, exit Zams.

Winter: Please park your car/vehicle at the Venet gondola station in Zams for free, your ski pass will be deposited there (5.00 EUR for chipcard, you will get refunded). Use gondola to mountain top station and ski back 'PIST no. 1'. to 'Skihütte Zams'. Backpack for small luggage required! Please bring your bigger luggage (cases) and bigger bags in advance to the chairlift station 'Rifenal' and give us a ring, we pick up your luggage and bring it to your rooms.
Summer: In Zams, use the turnoff left in between 'Gasthof Gämse' and 'Esso' gas station to road L311. This road leads to 'Rifenal'. After 2 kilometers you see a sign right hand side 'ZammerAlm' and 'Skihütte Zams'. Turn right into the dirt road and stay on this forest track. After 11 km you pass the top station of the chairlift 'Rifenal'. You are very close then. Follow the track for another 3 minutes, there you are. Total time from valley 30 minutes.
Alternatively you can use the gondola in summer on reduced fares. Wed. - Sun. 10am - 5pm on every full hour. Please just go to the middle station, from there it is a 10 minutes walk only.
