Stalderhut - Hochzeiger skiing resort/ Pitz valley 2008

The Stalderhuette is set on the opposite side of the valley to the Plattenrain and is situated above Jerzens in the Pitztal valley. Approximately 100 meters away from the Hochzeiger house is the Stalderhuette which accommodates up to 64 people in very comfortable multi-bed rooms. Additionally the house guests can relax in a rustic style lounge with bar and wonderful picturesque views of the Pitztal valley. .
We will gladly organize grill and traditional music evenings on request during the summer. We recommend this! The hiking possibilities at Hochzeiger are enormous. Well developed paths permit extensive walks from hut to hut and also with the Mountain bike the Stalderhuette is easily reached. If the weather conditions are bad you can play table tennis inside or lounge around in the newly built sauna.

The Stalderhuette is particularly suitable for birthday or anniversary celebrations being able to cater for large groups. Additional sporting thrills can be found at the  Bungy jump in the valley or naturally Rafting/Canyoning with RTA (everything is possible)! From winter 2001/2002 the Stalderhuette offers 18 new additional beds in the new extension and a super sauna !!!!!!!!!

In spring 2005 the old building will be replaced by new construction. All rooms have new bathrooms and WC.

Directions to the Stalderhuette:

  • The Stalderhuette is reached via the `Fernpass' on either the A7 Füssen/Reutte or the A95 Garmisch/Griesen and avoiding motorway fees (Vingette)....

    • Alternatively Garmisch-Partenkirchen (A95) via Mittenwald, Zirler Berg then (B171 via Telfs and Silz to Ötztal-Bahnhof, avoiding motorway fees 'Vingette' 20 minutes longer).... or Motorway A8 - Rosenheim>Innsbruck >Bregenz, exit Ötztal.

 

  • From Imst follow the signs to `Pitztal'. Drive through the small village of Artzl and continue on to Wenns then follow the signs to Jerzens ski resort.

  • In the last curve before the ski-lift comes the Hotel Panorama, a small tarmac road forks off to the left, towards Kaitanger, after about 50 m this turns into a winding gravel road.

  • Always follow the signs (about 4km) to the Stalderhütte and Hochzeigerhaus(1820 m) it is a little difficult to find at night but don't panic.

  • Shortly before the Hochzeigerhaus the road veers down to the right towards the Stalderhütte. The max. size vehicle for driving up to the Stalderhütte is a minibus (9-Sitzer). In winter it is possible for your bags to be collected. If you wish to travel with your own vehicle, snow chain are absolutely necessary! If you wish to go by foot then walk under the ski-lift, it takes about 40 minutes.

Self supplied drinks are not allowed. There is a storage room with fridge for self service of all drinks. Just collect your desired drink and mark in the wall pinned list. You will have to pay to Erich at departure.

Important: The traveling time from the Stalderhut to the Raft base is approx. 45 Minutes. So, leave on time !!!
